Mumbai: Seasons has been popular with its multiple stores in Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Surat. They are known for their prints, kurtas and ‘novel styles’ but mostly they are famous for their ethnic apparel.
Their stores are known to have a very homely feel where you can easily spend half a day exploring an unending plethora of prints in earthy tones. Evergreen crafts like Banarasis, Lucknowis and various artisanal works all over available in across India have made their way into this beautiful ‘corner store’.
With the rich tradition of earthy apparel from Seasons Vadodara and a new beginning in a fantastic location at Hughes Road, South Bombay, 'Bagh' certainly has it going well for itself! The boutique saw awesome opening when Saregamapa fame singer Ronkini Gupta and her band performed at ‘Sufi Evening'. The band enthralled the guest when they sang ‘Dumadam mast kalandar’ at the ‘Sufi evening’. Models Vijaya Dey, Priyasha Chaudhuri, Tashveen Sehgal and Revathi Acharya wore ‘Bagh’ ethnic collection. The shade of indigo, tassels on stoles, muslin dresses added beauty to stunning models. Wearing dresses which embodied fun prints, sublime tones on fine designmodels were happy to pose to the camera.
Bagh will continue to have most of Season’s collections. Additionally, it has an exclusive section dedicated to the artisanal lovers! Works of artisans from all over the country have been delicately created into ensembles meant for the finest taste.
Bagh’s lovely printed kurtas come in various styles, interestingly every section of the store holds a surprise! Sarees that shout out “simply gorgeous”; and an all-time favorite section of Lucknowi kurta with matching stoles; ultimate styles in indigo with tassels et al… what’s not to like?
For the lovers of simplicity, there is a whole section of plain garments in delicious colors from pastels to earthy… they have it all!
A little about the store: For many years this corner building from the 1950s, hosted the Mercedes showroom followed by a conspicuous Reliance Jewels. Since then the store has had a refreshing make-over! A beautiful yellow that cannot be missed as you drive past the Gamdevi cross junction. Bagh is quite a treat even from the inside! As hues of indigo color its racks, feel of silk richens the lot and soft printed muslin simply attract the eyes like a candy bar.
"Bagh" certainly is a store that justifies its location. It has already received its share of loyal customers all the way from Gujarat! It’s time for us locals to make Bagh our very own store!
