SPARK PLUG 2018 - ROCKING TOWARDS THE RUNWAY

Mumbai: Institute of Design and Media hosted "Spark Plug 2018", which is the graduating show for the final year Fashion and Interior Design students. The event showcased some of the most amazing collections of commercial viable design by fashion students. The interior design students’ exhibition had equally amazing viable commercial projects.

The show stoppers at the event were Candice Pinto. The fashion show highlighted creativity, sustainability and philanthropy amongst the youngsters. The event bought together designers, students of all skill levels who showed their hard work over the year on few categories. Mr. Rajiv Popley Director at Popley Group was the chief guest for the fashion show. Mr. Shoyeb Cyclewala Director & Brand Consultant/Regional Operations Head @LVMH India and Mr. Saurabh Singh, Head of Design Menswear, Being Human Clothing, The Mandhana Retail Ventures Ltd. Were the jury at the panel for the fashion  event.

The Interior design show was inaugurated by Ms. Samidha D'souza Design Manager at The Taj group of Hotels and Ms. Neteni Thapliyal, Principal, Interior Designer and Project Manager at Sara designs and Mr. Jatin Asher, Director at Square 3 Designs Pvt ltd. The Jury congratulated the designers of both Fashion and Interior; Collections of the students were showcased at the event.

Mr. Arshad Nayampally, Director ITM IDM said “Sparkplug the Annual Design event by students of ITM Institute of Design and Media has offered an exquisite feast fort the eye of Fashion enthusiasts with a thrilling fashion and Interior design display. He added saying, The rising stars of ITM fashion and Interior designing students exhibited their talent during Spark Plug 2018.

The Fashion design collections of the students were inspired from Indian culture, incarnation, physical assault etc. The students of the Interior Design department showcased their talents in the form of research folders, concept visual diaries, and scale models of various projects.

ITM recognized the hard work of graduating students by giving them the award in the following category of Best Design collection, Best Interior Design concept, Best Garment construction best exhibit Interior Design, Best project and best creative idea. The event ended with highlighting exceptional designs and influencing the culture and social attitudes. ITM IDM always looks towards building confidence amongst the students to make them industry ready.
