Consumex Enterprises Pvt Ltd inaugurated The 3rd edition of the "India International Furniture Fair" (IIFF)

Mumbai: The 3rd edition of "India International Furniture Fair" organized by Consumex Enterprises was inaugurated in Mumbai city. The official ribbon cutting was undertaken by Okan Güler, President of Inegol furniture Association, Yavuz Uğurdag, President of Inegol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmet Gulec, President of Istanbul exporters Union, Hüseyin Sahin from the Turkish Parliament (E), and Oguz Guardamar, Chairman, Consumex Enterprises. It will be held from 21st to 24th November 2019 at Hall 1, NESCO.

The fair is spread across a sprawling 100,000 sq. ft. area and exclusively brings together furniture manufacturers, buyers, importers, wholesalers and interior designers under one roof. This year there are 30 Indian and 50 Turkish manufacturers exhibiting at IIFF. The USP is that "IIFF" is the only dedicated furniture exhibition in the country that promotes Indian furniture craftsmanship bringing together Gulf and Korean buyers in the endeavor to promote this key industry across the World.
To encourage and engage the Indian designer community of interior designers and architects in India and the world, IIFF is also hosting a two-day conference and workshop called I’M Design. Some of the prominent speakers include renowned names in the design industry like Professor Alpay Er from Ozyegin University and WDO Member of Board Turkish Industrial Design History, Ece Yalım, Industrial Designer, Karim Rashid, Industrial Designer, Srini Srinivasan, President, WDO and CEO Lumium Design. They will speak about a range of interesting topics like sustainable design, Indian consumer behavior, etc.

The motto for I’M Design this year is "Design Speaks Every Language”. To fulfill that aim there are scheduled panel discussions on the style of furniture design India and the style of furniture design Turkey. These will be held by well-known design mavericks - Hardik Gandhi, Industrial Designer and Head Designer of Forma, Kedar Naik, Industrial Designer and the founder of Russet Studio, Atilla Kuzu, Industrial Designer the founder of Zoom Design. They will share various perspectives on design amongst the designing community.

Consumers and design community experts can visit IIFF to witness the exquisite furniture designs to India from across the globe. On display are the latest designs, colors, and trendy choices in furniture from across the industry. To name a few the new and upcoming multi-brand furniture retail chain like Above & Beyond is participating this year.

Okan Güler, President of Inegol Furniture Association, said “India is a very important country with industrial and commercial Power. We as Turkish furniture manufacturers have been participating in IIFF since 2017 and have received a positive response from Indian furniture manufacturers. We hope to replicate that in the future.”

Yavuz Uğurdag, President of Inegol Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, “Inegol is a very important and massive furniture manufacturing center of Turkey. We have participated 3 times to IIFF and hosted Indian manufacturers in Turkey to import our designs. As the chairman of Inegol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are here to provide value to Indian furniture industry.”

Ahmet Gulec, President of Istanbul exporters Union said,” Turkey is the 14th largest furniture manufacturer in the world. We have 4 billion US$ export and 10Billion US$ value manufacturing capacity. We would love to extend opportunities to Indian manufacturers to explore Turkish furniture designs.”
