Mumbai: “GSP Crop Science”, a leading agrochemical manufacturer group, has announced the appointment of Anibal O. Scarpaas Country head of its Brazil Operations, GSP Agroquimica Do Brasil ( a subsidiary of GSP Crop Science Pvt ltd). He will lead the B2C sales and development of the company in the Brazilian market.

“We are setting up an office in Brazil as we plan to start catering to the consumer market in Brazil. Brazil being the largest Agro chemical market is a very important geography to be present in. We see a great opportunity for growth. With Anibal joining us with his experience and knowledge about the industry we are very excited about our plans, said Tirth Shah, Executive Director of GSP Crop Science Ltd on the appointment.

Anibal has over 25 years of experience in the Agro-Chem industry having worked in Atanor and Alamos previously.

Commenting on his new role, Anibal said, “Throughout my life as an agronomist engineer I have had several professional achievements, in the agrochemical sector (through product development, the regulatory area in several countries, and the national and international commercial sector), but perhaps this is the most important of all: introducing a company like GSP into the largest phyto sanitary market in the world.”

The Brazilian agrochemical market is the largest in the world with the market size being approximately $12 Billion annually compared to around $3.5 Billion in India.

Anibal O. Scarpa's disappointment with its Brazilian operations aligns with GSP Crop Science’s strategic plans to set a footprint in the Brazilian market. The company endeavors to focus more on the export market and make a mark globally. “We have defined firm goals and long-term work, including possible investments in this great country. I recently had the opportunity to visit the factories which increased my enthusiasm. For this it will be essential to put together a solid work group, with the main focus being the sales team, combining it with a strong administrative structure and in harmony with our colleagues from the headquarters in the country of origin.” Anibal further added.
