Mumbai: Mumbai's emerging chess talent, Guru Prakash (ELO 1701), will lead the charge in the upcoming second leg of the '360 One Wealth Grand Prix Chess Series' for Under-15 players.
The tournament, organized by the Indian Chess School will be held at the Russian Centre for Science & Culture, Peddar Road, where Guru Prakash is poised for a formidable clash with the 2nd seed, Darsh Shetty (ELO 1650), and 3rd seed, Atharv Soni (ELO 1605).
With a robust participation of 93 players, including 29 FIDE-rated players, the championship adopts a classical format of seven rounds, featuring a time control of 90 minutes and 30 seconds per player.
The stakes are high, with a prize fund of ₹2.50 Lakhs, offering a lucrative ₹50,000 first prize and the prestigious Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay trophy to the ultimate victor.
