IIFL JITO AHIMSA RUN IS HERE TO PROMOTE PEACE & NON-VIOLENCE

 

Mumbai: The "Jain International Trade Organization" (JITO) is gearing up for the second edition of the "JITO IIFL AHIMSA RUN", scheduled to take place on Sunday, 31st March 2024, at Worli Sea Link. At the recent logo launching ceremony, Prithviraj Kothari, Chairman of Mumbai Zone, revealed that the Flag Off Ceremony will commence at the Wings Arena Ground, K.C. Marg, Bandra Reclamation, Bandra West, marking the start of the three timed run categories: 21.1 km, 10 km, and 5 km run. The run will unfold simultaneously at over 70 locations across India and 22 countries worldwide on the same day and time.

Dr. Vinay Jain, Chief Secretary of Mumbai Zone and Convener for the race, anticipates the participation of over 2 lakh runners globally to propagate the universal message of peace and nonviolence. JITO, renowned for its commitment to socio-economic empowerment, value-centric education, and community welfare, advocates the core tenets of Jainism: Peace and Non-violence (Ahimsa). The previous edition of the IIFL JITO AHIMSA RUN witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 116,000 participants. The event received blessings from prominent figures, including Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, and secured a place in the Guinness World Records for the highest number of peace pledges by any NGO globally. Registration for the run is now open.

Shri. Sukhrajji Nahar, Chairman of JITO APEX, emphasized JITO's extensive reach across 9 domestic zones, comprising 69 chapters and 28 International chapters, with over 15,000 members and their families. JITO has been instrumental in driving positive change and fostering holistic development across various sectors of society. The Ahimsa Run, organized by JITO, promotes peace, non-violence, harmony, and healthy living among citizens.

The ‘JITO APEX Body’ extended gratitude to Nirmal Jain, Founder and Chairman of India Infoline Group, for sponsoring the 2023 edition of the IIFL JITO Ahimsa Run. It was confirmed that IIFL would continue as the Title Sponsor for this year's edition of the ‘IIFL JITO AHIMSA RUN’.
