GJC Inaugurates 5th Edition of Flagship B2B Expo - India Gem and Jewellery Show (GJS)

 

Mumbai: The "All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council" (GJC) inaugurated its flagship event, the ‘India Gems and Jewellery Show’ (GJS April Show) at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, bringing together jewellery wholesalers and retailers ahead of the festive season. Known as #HumaraApnaShow, the four-day GJS April 2024 event commenced on Tuesday with the participation of industry leaders, establishing itself as a 'Not-to-Miss industry event’.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Hon’ble Minister of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Government of Maharashtra, with Shri Rajesh Kalyanraman - Executive Director, Kalyan Jewellers, and Shri Sunil Nayak, Chief Executive Officer, Reliance Jewels, as Keynote Speakers, along with Mr. Rajiv Jain, Secretary Jaipur Jewellery Show. The GJS April 2024 Show features 600+ stalls and 350+ exhibitors showcasing innovative products, attracting over 12,000 visitors.

The show has attracted over 200 international buyers from various countries, creating a conducive environment for retailers to explore trendsetting designs before Gudi Padwa and Akshaya Tritiya. Strict adherence to regulatory requirements ensures smooth operations during the Achar Sanhita period, with the exhibition focusing solely on B2B interactions.

In addition to the exhibition, GJC is organizing the Gala evening, GJC Nite, on 3rd April 2024 at Hotel Sahara Star, presented by IDT Gemmological Laboratories Worldwide. 'GJC Nite' will feature a Fashion Show with leading Indian models and celebrities showcasing India’s finest jewellery creations by renowned jewellers.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha emphasized the business-friendly atmosphere fostered by the government, stating that India's jewellery industry is poised for exponential growth in the coming years. Shri Sunil Nayak highlighted the importance of platforms like GJS for networking and market updates.

Shri. Saiyam Mehra, Chairman of GJC, underscored the efforts to motivate karigars and introduce innovations in jewellery designs, aiming to transform the industry. Rajesh Kalyanraman stressed the importance of transparency in the jewellery business for mutual growth.

Shri Rajesh Rokde, Vice Chairman of GJC, emphasized the organization's holistic approach towards the industry's growth, stating that India is experiencing its ‘Amrit Kaal’ or ‘Golden Era’ in the jewellery sector, transitioning towards becoming a developed nation.
