Mumbai: The “Samarthanam Trust” for the Disabled has proudly launched the “Samarthanam Art Center”, a landmark facility designed to empower and celebrate the artistic talents of individuals with disabilities. Located in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, the state-of-the-art, fully accessible center was inaugurated in a lively ceremony attended by corporate leaders, artists, and dignitaries.
Renowned playback singer Kunal Ganjawala graced the occasion as the celebrity guest, adding a melodic touch to the event. The inauguration was further elevated by the presence of Mr. Sanjay Singh, CEO and Head of Territory, BNP Paribas India, as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Jayashri Balkrishna, General Manager at General Insurance Corporation of India, as the Guest of Honour.
Spanning 32,000 square feet, the ‘Samarthanam Art Centre’ offers an inclusive space equipped to nurture the creativity of artists with disabilities. Key features include:
Accessible Auditorium: A 337-seat acoustic auditorium with ramps, specialized lifts, and inclusive seating.
Training and Therapy Spaces: Areas dedicated to skill development, music, and performing arts.
Partnership with KSGH University: Collaboration with Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal University of Music and Performing Arts ensures quality education for aspiring artists.
Advanced Stage Facilities: Cutting-edge stage lighting and cyclorama screen for professional performances.
Dr. Mahantesh G.
