Seema Kapoor’s Autobiography "Yun Guzri Hai Ab Talak" Launched by Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal & Boney Kapoor
Mumbai: The city witnessed a star-studded literary evening as renowned Bollywood writer-director Seema Kapoor unveiled her autobiography, "Yun Guzri Hai Ab Talak". The grand launch event was graced by Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Boney Kapoor, Dr. Annu Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Raghubir Yadav, singer Dr. Jaspinder Narula, writer-director Rumi Jaffery, Ronu Majumdar, and Pratima Kanan, among others. The event was coordinated by Kumarr from Studio Refuel, with the book published by Rajkamal Prakashan.
The evening began with Dr. Khushbu Panchal from Ujjain reciting Sanskrit shlokas, setting a spiritual and cultural tone. A special video message from filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra was also played, where he read excerpts from Seema Kapoor's book, further adding to the emotional depth of the event.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher praised Seema Kapoor’s writing, stating: "She has written this book like a film script—readers will feel as if they are watching a movie unfold. It is rare for someone to narrate their life’s journey with such honesty. Her story is inspiring, and I feel privileged to be here."
An emotional Boney Kapoor shared a heartfelt anecdote, revealing: "Seema Kapoor taught my daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, the correct pronunciation of Hindi and Urdu. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to her on this incredible milestone."
Paresh Rawal lauded her storytelling, adding: "Writing an autobiography is no easy feat—it takes courage and honesty. Seema's writing is exceptional, and I would love to be part of a project written by her."
Dr. Annu Kapoor spoke with deep admiration: "Seema has endured immense hardships, yet she remains a warrior—always cheerful and ready to help others. Her book is a testament to resilience and an inspiring tribute to our parents."
In an emotional speech, Seema Kapoor recounted her childhood struggles: "My maternal grandfather was a revolutionary, and my paternal grandfather was a Colonel. However, my father’s passion for theater led our family through financial hardships. I remember carrying just half a roti with pickles to school. Society looked down upon theater artists, and I faced discrimination. This book is my truth, my journey."
The event was filled with warmth as Raghubir Yadav, who fondly calls Seema "Guddo," shared childhood memories, filling the room with laughter. Jaspinder Narula expressed her joy at Seema fulfilling her dream of writing a book.
