Mumbai: The release date for the upcoming Marathi film "Ashtapadi" has officially been announced, with the film set to hit theatres on May 30, 2025. Alongside the announcement, a captivating new poster for the film has been unveiled, further fueling excitement in the film industry and among audiences.
Produced under the banners of Mahashree Production and Yuvraj Cine Creation, 'Ashtapadi' is helmed by producer and director Uttkarsh Jain, alongside Mahendra Patil, who serves as the film’s creative director and writer. Known for his gripping storytelling, Mahendra Patil has penned the screenplay and dialogues, bringing a fresh narrative to the screen.
The newly released poster features a striking wedding mandap in the background, offering a glimpse of the lead and supporting cast, adding to the film’s intrigue. While the concept of “Saptapadi” (the seven sacred vows in Hindu marriage) is well-known, Ashtapadi promises a never-before-seen story that explores the sacred institution of marriage and its significance in uniting not only two individuals but also two families.
In speaking about the film, director Uttkarsh Jain expressed his excitement: “The concept of 'Ashtapadi' presents a story that has never been explored on screen before. While the notion of marriage is central to the narrative, there are deeper layers to be revealed. We’ve focused on creating an emotional, thought-provoking experience, and the cast has delivered powerful performances, bringing something new to the table.”
Audiences are set to witness a completely new side of Santosh Juvekar, whose performance, alongside co-star Mayuri Kapadne, is expected to be a standout. The chemistry between the two actors is anticipated to be one of the film's most captivating elements. The film also features a talented ensemble cast, including Abhinav Patekar, Milind Phatak, Mona Kamat, Swapnil Rajshekhar, Madhav Abhyankar, Vishal Arjun, Vinita Kale, Chanda Sarsekar, Kalpana Rane, Uttkarsh Jain, Mahendra Patil, Nayana Bidwe, Jagdish Hadap, and Mahesh Joshi.
The film’s music, which adds a rich layer to the narrative, has been composed by Milind More, with lyrics written by Ganesh Cheulkar and Prashant Jamdar. The background score, cinematography by Dhanraj Wagh, art direction by Nilesh Rasal, and costumes by Anjali Khobrekar and Swapna Raut further elevate the film’s overall production quality. The choreography is directed by Digvijay Joshi, while Rahul Patil and Nandu Acharekar serve as associate directors. Ajay Khade is the executive producer.
