CoinSwitch Unveils ‘Virtual Digital Assets Decoded’ for Police & Cybercrime Units

India: "CoinSwitch", India’s largest crypto trading platform, has announced the launch of "Virtual Digital Assets Decoded", the country’s first dedicated handbook aimed at empowering law enforcement agencies, cybercrime units, and policymakers with essential knowledge to navigate the evolving virtual digital asset (VDA) ecosystem.

As crypto adoption accelerates across India, police forces and cybercrime investigators are increasingly encountering complex cases involving digital currencies, cross-border transactions, and blockchain-based fraud. To address this rising challenge, 'CoinSwitch' has developed a structured, easy-to-understand manual that breaks down VDA fundamentals and offers practical, investigation-ready guidance.

The handbook will now be disseminated across key police stations, state cybercrime cells, and government cybersecurity departments, ensuring that frontline officers and investigators have direct access to critical tools, definitions, and step-by-step frameworks required for case handling.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Ashish Singhal, Co-founder & CEO, CoinSwitch, said: “India has emerged as a global leader in grassroots-level crypto adoption, ranking first in the Global Crypto Adoption Index for the third consecutive year in 2025. With this growth comes a responsibility for service providers to safeguard consumer interests and foster a safer, more inclusive crypto ecosystem. This handbook is our contribution to that mission.”

This initiative builds upon CoinSwitch’s ongoing engagement with regulators and enforcement bodies. The platform has already conducted over 35 workshops and training sessions across India, equipping officers with skills in blockchain tracing, wallet analysis, and investigation of crypto-related fraud. The company has also formed advisory partnerships to support the development of balanced, progressive crypto regulations in the country.

In the coming months, CoinSwitch plans to expand its training footprint, deepen collaborations, and build long-term knowledge ecosystems to support India’s digital financial architecture.

To streamline coordination, law enforcement agencies can submit official requests or communication via nodaldesk@coinswitch.co.

With Virtual Digital Assets Decoded, CoinSwitch aims to strengthen institutional capacity, enhance investigative readiness, and support the creation of a robust and secure crypto environment in India.
