PierPop Reimagines Mumbai’s Historic Waterfront for a New Generation

Mumbai: The city's iconic waterfront is set to come alive this monsoon with the launch of PierPop, a month-long experiential festival at Ballard Pier that combines sports, food, culture, retail and live entertainment into a vibrant destination for visitors of all ages. The festival opens on June 21 and will run until July 23, 2026, with organisers expecting weekly footfall to exceed 7,500 visitors.

Designed as a recurring urban destination rather than a one-day event, PierPop aims to transform the waterfront into a hub of community engagement and leisure during the monsoon season.

The festival features four major attractions. These include NautiPickle, India's first indoor air-conditioned pickleball arena with eight courts; NautiTrax, an indoor go-karting track stretching 295 metres; Nauti Baro Market, a curated lifestyle and retail marketplace showcasing brands from more than 25 cities; and Pier Pantry, a food market curated by The Nommers that celebrates local produce, artisanal products and unique culinary experiences.

In addition to its flagship attractions, PierPop offers an extensive lineup of family-friendly activities and entertainment. Visitors can explore Nautiverse, a dedicated children's activity zone, enjoy open-air screenings through Cinema by the Sea, participate in Nauti-Wheels RC and motorsport activations, or take part in fitness sessions such as Hyrox Training. The festival also includes Kids at Work, a construction-themed playground, The Reading Nook for young readers, creative workshops by Art for Akanksha, wellness and beauty experiences, and a Seaside Park that remains open to the public throughout the festival.

Speaking about the initiative, Prashin Jhobalia, Chief Marketing Officer, House of Hiranandani, said that great cities are shaped not only by their skylines but also by their public spaces. He noted that PierPop reflects the group's vision of creating spaces that foster connection and community, allowing Mumbai residents to engage with the waterfront through sport, culture, food and shared experiences.

Kanchan Rizvi, President and Terminal Head of The Ballard Pier Downtown Experience Centre, said the waterfront has always been an integral part of Mumbai's identity. She added that PierPop reimagines the harbour as a place people can return to throughout the monsoon, offering experiences for all age groups and transforming rainy weekends into opportunities for discovery, recreation and memorable moments.

With its unique mix of recreation, culture and community engagement, PierPop is poised to become one of Mumbai's most exciting monsoon attractions.
