Formar SC Justice Rajesh Bindal Urges Ethical Leadership at Bada Business LFP

New Delhi: As India's startup and MSME ecosystem continues to grow, Former Supreme Court Justice Rajesh Bindal called upon entrepreneurs to view governance, compliance and ethical leadership as essential drivers of long-term business success while addressing Dr. Vivek Bindra's Bada Business Leadership Funnel Program (LFP).

The programme brought together startup founders, MSME entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the country for a series of leadership sessions, including a fireside conversation, keynote address, interactive discussion and Leadership Lunch. The event focused on how transparency, accountability and integrity can become the foundation of sustainable and resilient businesses.

Welcoming Justice Bindal, Dr. Vivek Bindra said India's future entrepreneurs must build organisations rooted in trust, governance and responsible leadership. He observed that while business leaders provide valuable entrepreneurial lessons, institutions that have consistently upheld constitutional values and public trust also offer important leadership insights.

During the fireside conversation, Justice Bindal reflected on his journey from the legal profession to the Supreme Court of India. Sharing experiences from his judicial career, he said leadership demands impartiality, intellectual honesty and the courage to make difficult decisions based on principles rather than convenience. He noted that judicial decisions often influence governments, institutions and millions of citizens, making ethical decision-making indispensable.

Drawing a parallel with entrepreneurship, Dr. Bindra remarked that founders frequently face situations where immediate profits compete with long-term credibility. He said organisations that endure are those that make governance and ethics an integral part of their culture from the very beginning.

In his keynote address, Justice Bindal encouraged entrepreneurs to move beyond treating compliance merely as a legal requirement and instead regard it as a strategic business advantage. He said transparent systems, financial discipline, accountability and responsible leadership help organisations build stakeholder confidence, minimise risks and create institutions capable of sustaining long-term growth.

Based on his experience in judicial administration and reforms, Justice Bindal emphasised that enduring institutions are built on strong systems, well-defined processes and shared values rather than individual personalities. He also highlighted the transformative role of technology in improving transparency and efficiency but stressed that digital transformation can deliver sustainable results only when supported by sound governance and ethical leadership.

Echoing these views, Dr. Bindra observed that although technology accelerates business growth, its long-term impact depends on how responsibly it is integrated into organisational culture and decision-making.

The programme also featured an interactive question-and-answer session where entrepreneurs discussed governance, institution building and ethical leadership with Justice Bindal. Participants gained insights into leadership from the perspective of one of India's most respected judicial reformers.

The event concluded with an exclusive Leadership Lunch hosted by Dr. Vivek Bindra, where entrepreneurs engaged with Justice Bindal on topics including resilience, humility, lifelong learning and institution building. Justice Bindal reiterated that credibility is earned through consistent conduct and principled decision-making over time.

The Bada Business Leadership Funnel Program (LFP) aims to expose entrepreneurs to leadership lessons from distinguished personalities across the judiciary, governance and public life, encouraging cross-sector learning and responsible entrepreneurship.

The programme concluded with a strong message that as India moves towards becoming a developed economy, lasting business success will depend not only on innovation and growth but also on governance, integrity and principled leadership that creates long-term value for businesses, society and the nation.
