STEP Hosts Successful Green Ribbon Fest, Promoting Innovation in Mental Health Entrepreneurship

 

Mumbai: “STEP”, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs, hosted the inaugural ‘Green Ribbon Fest’ at the Hall of Harmony, Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. The event, held from 10 am to 5 pm, served as a platform for mental health startups, investors, industry experts, and stakeholders to engage in discussions, pitch presentations, and networking sessions.

“The Green Ribbon Fest” aimed to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the mental health sector, addressing the pressing need for accessible and comprehensive support systems in today's society. Against the backdrop of increasing awareness and destigmatization efforts surrounding mental health, the event aimed to foster collaboration and innovation to address mental health challenges effectively.

Reinu Shah, Founder of STEP, emphasized the importance of highlighting mental health issues and promoting innovation in addressing them. She stressed the need for creating supportive environments and reducing stigma to ensure everyone has access to the support needed for mental well-being.

During the event, 
Bhavana Issar, Founder & CEO of Caregiver Saathi, shared personal and professional experiences highlighting the challenges faced by family caregivers. She underscored the importance of community support for caregivers to prevent feelings of isolation and replenish emotional reserves.

Neha Kirpal, Founder of Amaaha Health, highlighted the significance of events like the Green Ribbon Fest in driving meaningful change in the mental health landscape. She emphasized the need for collaboration and advocacy to build a more accepting and caring society where mental health is valued.

The event featured a pitching competition, with 10 startups selected as winners from over 100 applications received nationwide. The winners were chosen by a diverse panel of jury members comprising investors, entrepreneurs, and mental health experts. The startups were categorized into revenue, pre-revenue, and prototype stages.

The grand prize, accompanied by a grant of Rs 10,00,000 lakh, was awarded to Kodate Parenting for their innovative solution to parenting issues.

The winners expressed gratitude for the grant, highlighting its importance in further developing and expanding their startup ventures. They emphasized the significance of such opportunities in providing crucial support for budding entrepreneurs to realize their visions and advance their businesses.

Durmeric Natureceuticals Pvt Ltd served as the gifting partner, demonstrating their commitment to supporting mental health entrepreneurship.

“The Green Ribbon Fest” concluded with the prize distribution, marking a significant stride towards fostering innovation and collaboration in the mental health sector.
