Mumbai: "CHEMEXCIL" (Basic Chemicals, Cosmetics & Dyes Export Promotion Council), under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will host its prestigious Export Awards Ceremony in Mumbai on February 8, 2025.
The event will be graced by Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Smt. Anupriya Patel, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Uday Samant, Minister of Industries, Government of Maharashtra, as the Guest of Honour.
The Indian chemical industry, valued at USD 220 billion in 2022, is projected to reach USD 300 billion by 2025 and a staggering USD 1 trillion by 2040. Contributing around 7% to India’s GDP, the sector holds a 2.8–3% share of the global chemical industry and encompasses over 80,000 commercial products. It also employs more than 2 million people directly and indirectly.
Speaking about the awards ceremony, Union MoS Smt. Anupriya Patel commended CHEMEXCIL for recognizing outstanding exporters in basic chemicals, dyes & intermediates, cosmetics & toiletries, castor oil, and specialty chemicals.
She emphasized the crucial role of India's chemical sector in industrial growth and urged the industry to adopt cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices, and value-added manufacturing.
"As we move towards achieving new milestones in trade and sustainability, I encourage the chemical industry to embrace innovation. The Government of India remains committed to fostering a business-friendly environment, providing policy support, and ensuring ease of doing business to help our exporters thrive," stated Smt. Anupriya Patel.
The CHEMEXCIL Export Awards Ceremony will celebrate India's top chemical exporters, reinforcing the nation's vision for a robust, sustainable, and globally competitive chemical industry.
