Future Generali India Insurance Launches ‘It’s a Onederful World’ to Champion Inclusion

Mumbai: "Future Generali India Insurance Company Ltd." (FGII) has taken a significant step in its 'Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion' (DEI) journey with the launch of It’s a Onederful World—a coffee table book that highlights inspiring stories of inclusion, resilience, and change.

This launch underscores FGII’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace, particularly celebrating its achievement of 1% workforce representation for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). The book showcases real-life stories of PwD employees at FGII and individuals from diverse backgrounds who have overcome challenges with resilience.

The grand launch event was graced by an esteemed lineup of guests: Rana Daggubati – Acclaimed actor and producer, Sudha Chandran – Renowned actress and Bharatanatyam dancer, Avani Lekhara – Two-time Paralympic champion, Srikanth Bolla – CEO of Bollant Industries.

'FGII' embarked on a strategic 'DEI' initiative in 2022, implementing policy reforms, sensitization programs, and launching inclusive insurance products for the LGBTQIA+ community and women. In just a year, the company has expanded its PwD workforce to 41 employees across 16 regional branches, with 22% of PwD hires being women.

Anup Rau, Managing Director & CEO of FGII, emphasized: “Inclusion cannot be just a policy—it has to be a lived reality. True inclusion means every stakeholder has a seat at the table. We are proud that 1% of our workforce comprises differently-abled individuals—not as an obligation, but as a commitment to talent, perspective, and potential.”

It’s a Onederful World is available in Braille and audio formats, making it accessible to all. The book features insights from industry leaders and disability rights advocates, including: Arunima Sinha – First female amputee to climb Mount Everest, Dr. Suresh Advani – Pioneering oncologist, Minati Barik – PwD advocate and Panchayat election candidate, Faye D’Souza, Virali Modi, Nipun Malhotra, and Tiffany Brar – Prominent voices for disability rights.

The book also highlights the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Act, 2016, serving as a guide for organizations striving to build an inclusive workforce.

With this initiative, 'FGII' is setting new standards for corporate inclusivity, reaffirming its vision of ‘leading with a human touch’. The company remains dedicated to fostering real change through policies and initiatives that empower underrepresented communities.
