"India Green Manufacturing Challenge (IGMC)" is an award platform that assesses and evaluates the units which exhibit sustainable Green Manufacturing Processes on their journey to inclusive growth. The winners of the award are the companies who have exhibited excellence in the adoption of Green Processes beyond the standards and have established a new benchmark for others to follow.

'The India Green Manufacturing Challenge (IGMC) Awards 2020-21' was focused on encouraging manufacturers to adopt greener, more environmentally responsible solutions for manufacturing to help future generations live on a healthy planet. It applied a Green Manufacturing Framework comprising of four elements (human, input, operations, and product) based on which the entrants were evaluated for the awards. In the previous IGMC Awards listed organizations like (Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever, Aditya Birla Group, Tata Group companies, JSW Steel, Larsen and Toubro, ITC, Sun Pharmaceuticals, etc) have been recognized.

"GHFL" has been innovating on ‘Green Fuel’ Biomass briquettes used for steam generation to further reduce environmental impact. The company has enhanced its reproducibility, safety, and sustainability through the installations of advanced technologies. GHFL’s screw press technology is one such example that eliminates the use of sludge drying beds in the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) reducing groundwater contamination and air pollution due to its vaporization. 'GHFL' uses processes like blowdowns to convert liquid to solid wastes with reduced efforts in handling and disposal of wastes. Using environment-friendly films used in consumer product packing has also made post-consumer recycling much easier.
