Mumbai: "TECNO Mobile", the premium Smartphone brand from "TRANSSION India", has sparked football fever in India by hosting the "Premier League Trophy" at Infiniti Mall in Mumbai, in the presence of legendary English (former) footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and TECNO Mobile India CEO Arijeet Talapatra.
The event was part of Tecno Mobile's mission to engage with India's young and promote sports. Shaun Wright-Phillips is a well-known English player who has represented Manchester City in prestigious football tournaments such as the Premier League and Football League, as well as at the senior international level for the England national team.
"TECNO as a brand is renowned to cater to a young demographic," said Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of TECNO Mobile India. TECNO picked sports as its base to attract the Zillennials out of the many verticals that appeal to them. Our partnership exemplifies purity, greatness, and an unwavering will to succeed in the face of adversity, and serves as an example of how both entities work tirelessly to make the aspirations of young football fans a reality. We are ecstatic to bring the Premier League Trophy to India, as Man City celebrates a fantastic season and prepares for even greater success next season. We are committed to building greater relationships with prospective footballers and Indian Smartphone users as a result of our continuous partnership."
In addition to TECNO and Man City's attempts to create a good impact on young minds through the combination of technology and sports, the two companies have joined forces to establish a purpose-driven campaign aimed at finding football fans in the area of journalism. The victors will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with GOAL and cover Pep Guardiola's side from close quarters till the season's end. They will be guided by GOAL's regional editorial team as well as Jonathan Smith, a specialist Man City journalist.
"It's amazing to be in India with Manchester City and attend events like this with club partners like TECNO throughout the country," Shaun Wright-Phillips said of his trip to India. So far, the fans in India have been quite friendly, and it's fantastic to see TECNO and Man City's relationship motivating young people all around the world."
Within five years of its launch in India, TECNO has experienced rapid growth and has consolidated its position among India's top five Smartphone manufacturers in the sub-ten thousand dollar segment. With the new POVA and CAMON series Smartphones, the firm is also putting more emphasis on the 10K and above market. TECNO has continually pushed the edge by providing the latest technology to the Indian customer at a disruptive price, with an attitude of remaining "ahead of the curve" and a product philosophy based on "segment-first" features.
TECNO's marketing strategy focuses on developing a strong link with India's youth to increase brand awareness and recall. The partnership between TECNO and Manchester City intends to expand their brands' footprint in terms of marketing and advertising campaigns across the country. Furthermore, since 2016, TECNO has been Manchester City's Official Global Tablet and Handset Partner.
