The Mumbai Port Trust Kamgar Ekta Union is continuously fighting for the betterment of serving

Mumbai: A delegation of Union leads by Shri. Manoj Yadav President had met the Hon'ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Govt. of India on 15th of May 2022 during his visit to Mumbai and handed over the representation enumerating there in the grievances of MBPA serving/retired employees.

The following (2) prominent issues among the other issue were mainly discussed with the Hon'ble Minister. 80% of wage arrears amount arising out of wage settlement signed on 30th august 2018 is still not paid to the serving / retired employees, though negotiations have already started for new wage revision w.e.f. 1/1/2022. Issue of providing adequate medical facilities for the serving / Retired employees and members of their families (beneficiaries).

The Hon'ble Minister has been kind enough to assure us to look into the matter positively and on his assurances, the massive Morcha/Agitation and signature campaign which was to be held in front of the main gate of the hospital Wadala on 18th May 2022 at11.00 am was postponed. It was also announced that after taking the stock of the situation the new date of agitation Morcha would be decided.

Before this, the union had also sent representation to the hon'ble minister vide their letter no. MPTKEU/004/MOS/2K22 dated 24th April 2022 requesting to provide adequate medical facilities to the serving / retired workers. Wherein the following issues regarding MPA hospital were raised. beneficiaries travel to far-off hospitals for dialysis 2 to 3 times a week while our hospital has a dialysis center ready. Our members visited and saw more than 20 ventilator machines lying idle in the hospital which is not been installed for use for the last 2 years while the entire country suffered from ventilators.

More than 9500 patients have been sent to private hospitals in the last financial year, where our people don't even get any priority and suffer long queues after paying Crores of cash every year by MBPA.
