Mumbai: "Karkinos Healthcare", a purpose-driven technology-led oncology platform, is proud to be participating in the 'National Diagnostics Forum 2023'. During the previous several years, India's diagnostics industry has grown at a pace of 15-20%, making diagnostics one of the most crucial components of the healthcare industry. The country's diagnostics sector has expanded from independent clinics to several diagnostic chains, and it is constantly reinventing itself.
Dr. Prashant Kumar, Chief Scientific Officer of Karkinos Healthcare, delivered a talk on ‘Bridging the Gap in Clinical Mass Spectrometry: From Clinical Research to Diagnostics Continuum’. Citing the importance of Mass Spectrometry, he said, “Clinical mass spectrometry has proven to be a powerful tool in the field of diagnostics. This technology has enabled the detection of biomarkers for various diseases. With its ability to detect even minute abnormalities, clinical mass spectrometry is continuing to revolutionize the field of diagnostics and make it easier for healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and treatments. Only by dissecting the patient's problem into molecular-level information can we achieve excellence in the era of personalized therapy. Such technology can aid in the identification of targets for which specific drugs can be developed. It further bridges the gap between pre-clinical and clinical implementation.”
Furthermore, Dr. Prashant Kumar moderated a session on the Future of Genetic Testing for Preventive Healthcare. The panelists discussed how preventive healthcare focuses on the early detection of future health problems and protects patients from potential illnesses, as well as how it aids in the identification and minimization of risk factors associated with potential diseases, overall health improvement, early disease detection through screening and importance pre-testing and post-testing genetic counseling.
The forum gathered diagnostics industry thought leaders and organizational stakeholders to address the future of diagnostics and its role in improving patient outcomes. It discussed a comprehensive overview of the current state of diagnostics and how more advancements can be made to impart better care to patients by unlocking the range of potential benefits of diagnostic testing, beyond the traditional clinical and health domains.
