Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar Announces Tadoba Festival: Promoting Wildlife Conservation and Sustainable Tourism from March 1st to 3rd

 

Mumbai: The “Tadoba Festival”, organized by the ‘Tadoba Andhari Tiger Conservation Project’ in Chandrapur from March 1st to 3rd, 2024, aims to promote wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism, and community involvement. Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar announced that the festival will include various activities and events highlighting the importance of preserving natural habitats and involving local communities in conservation efforts.

‘Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve’, established in 1955, is Maharashtra's oldest national park, and the festival will take place across its various locations. Minister Mungantiwar emphasized the festival's significance in showcasing the commitment to wildlife conservation while fostering sustainable development. He highlighted the role of tourism and industrial development in protecting wildlife habitats and promoting economic growth.

The festival's agenda includes interactive sessions, panel discussions, and cultural programs spread over three days. The inaugural day features a Nature Quiz, traditional dance performances, short film presentations, and a musical performance by Shreya Ghoshal.

The second day will host photography workshops, charity runs, seminars, and cultural events. The highlight of the day is the Guinness World Record attempt for the largest tree plantation program, alongside performances by renowned artists and poetry meets.

On the third day, participants can engage in activities such as Treasure Hunt, Cyclothon, Painting Competition, Wildlife Quiz Competition, and CSR Conclave, providing opportunities for community engagement and awareness-building.

Minister Mungantiwar reiterated the festival's importance in promoting wildlife conservation and sustainable tourism practices while encouraging active participation from locals and tourists alike. The ‘Tadoba Festival’ stands as a testament to the collective efforts towards preserving India's natural heritage and fostering environmental sustainability.
