Mumbai: The 16th edition of the Dr Batra's® ‘Positive Health Awards’, supported by Bajaj Auto, took place at the TATA Theatre in NPCA Mumbai, hosted by renowned actress Mandira Bedi. The event, which celebrates individuals who have overcome severe illnesses and disabilities while making significant contributions to society, featured an esteemed jury panel that included Rajiv Bajaj (MD of Bajaj Auto), Padma Shri recipient Dr. Mukesh Batra, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Viviek Oberoi, and R. Balki. These distinguished jury members had the challenging task of selecting winners from hundreds of applications across the country.
The event was attended by over 1000 prominent leaders from various fields, with Dr. Bu Abdullah, Chairman of the Bu Abdullah Group (UAE), as the guest of honor, who traveled from Dubai to attend the occasion. The audience was treated to inspiring performances, including a musical show by Swarrange, an orchestra of visually challenged individuals, and a dance fusion of Kathak and Bharatnatyam by the Pasha Dance Group from Bengaluru, all of which added to the uplifting atmosphere.
In his address, Dr. Mukesh Batra, the founder of Dr Batra’s® Group, expressed that true inspiration for patients often comes from those who have recovered from similar challenges. He thanked the event’s sponsors, including Rajiv Bajaj, for their continued support of this meaningful initiative.
Sonu Sood, actor and philanthropist, also praised the foundation's efforts in recognizing and honoring specially-abled individuals, highlighting the importance of their stories as role models.
Rajiv Bajaj also shared his admiration for homeopathy, emphasizing its healing power and how Dr. Batra has modernized the practice, taking it globally. He expressed pride in Bajaj Auto's long-standing partnership with the Positive Health Awards and its role in supporting differently-abled individuals.
Among the awardees, Satyam was named the People’s Choice winner with over 400,000 votes, while Suvarna Raj and Anand Arnold received recognition with more than 300,000 and 200,000 votes, respectively. Each recipient was honored with a trophy, certificate, and a ₹1 Lakh cheque to support their ongoing efforts to improve the world.
