Mumbai: The backbone of India's economic development and a key player in achieving the $5 trillion economy vision, is witnessing rapid advancements in the logistics sector. With strong government policies and public-private partnerships fueling this momentum, the second edition of "LogiMAT India 2025" — the world’s largest logistics and infrastructure satellite show — was inaugurated today at the Bombay Exhibition Centre.
Dr. Anbalagan IAS, Secretary of the Industries Department for the Government of Maharashtra, officially launched the event, highlighting Maharashtra's role in shaping India’s logistics future. “We have recently allocated 400 acres to a company, set to invest around $3 billion in Ratnagiri, with construction expected to begin within three to four years. The Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg region holds immense potential, especially in agricultural exports like mangoes and cashews, as well as marine products. Additionally, we are planning 15 to 20 logistics hubs along the Samruddhi Corridor from Nagpur to Mumbai,” he stated. “For investors looking at logistics over the next decade, Maharashtra offers unmatched opportunities.”
A recent 'LogiMAT India' survey, conducted with over 150 industry leaders, projects $4 billion in investments in India’s logistics sector over the next three years. However, with India's strategic push to become a global logistics hub, experts believe this number could be even higher. 'LogiMAT India 2025' aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of strengthening India’s logistics capabilities to enhance global competitiveness.
The event brought together key industry figures, including: Shankar Shinde – Managing Director, Global Express Multilogistics & Chairman, International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations, Sascha Schmel – Managing Director, Material Handling and Intralogistics - VDMA, Bernhard Müller – Vice President, Messe Stuttgart & Director - Messe Stuttgart India, Aditya Gupta – CEO, Messe Stuttgart India.

Gupta emphasized LogiMAT India's role in transforming India’s logistics landscape through warehouse automation, smart delivery systems, and advanced supply chain management.
The exhibition will feature 200+ leading brands, including Addverb, Craftsman Automation, System Logistics, Anscer Robotics, and Armstrong Dematic. Over 250 advanced technologies will be unveiled, offering companies opportunities to network, explore solutions, and gain a competitive edge. Supported by 'Invest India', Startup India, and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, the event is expected to attract over 20,000 visitors.
