Pratt & Whitney Appoints Ashish Saraf as Vice President and Country Head, India

 

New Delhi: Pratt & Whitney, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, has announced the appointment of Ashish Saraf as Vice President and Country Head, India, marking a significant step in the company’s long-term strategic commitment to the Indian aerospace sector.


As Pratt & Whitney’s most senior executive in India, Ashish Saraf will lead the company’s integrated operations across engineering, supply chain, customer service, operations, and digital transformation. His leadership will be pivotal in accelerating Pratt & Whitney’s growth, innovation, and in-country transformation efforts.


“Pratt & Whitney has invested more than $40 million in the past four years to expand its engineering, digital, supply chain, and aftermarket capabilities in India,” said Satheeshkumar Kumarasingam, Chief Digital Officer, Pratt & Whitney.


“Ashish’s extensive expertise in business transformation and strategic partnerships will bolster our next phase of growth in this critical market.”


Ashish Saraf joins Pratt & Whitney from Thales, where he served as Country Director and Chairman for all Thales India businesses spanning aerospace, defense, biometrics, cybersecurity, and the Global Capability Center. He brings with him over two decades of leadership experience across the aerospace, defense, and manufacturing sectors.


His previous roles include leadership positions at Airbus, the Tata-Sikorsky joint venture, and Deloitte Consulting, where he led strategic and operational projects across the U.S. and Europe.


With a presence in India spanning over 70 years, Pratt & Whitney currently employs more than 800 people in the country. Its engines and auxiliary power units power nearly 600 aircraft across commercial, regional, and military segments — including the Airbus A320neo family, ATR 72s, and the Indian Air Force’s C-295 and C-17 Globemaster III platforms.


This appointment signals Pratt & Whitney’s continued commitment to India as a key partner in its global growth and innovation journey.
