Mumbai: 'German Hightech Charitable Trust' successfully hosted the "SEED Conclave 2026" (Sustainability, Energy, Environment & Development Conclave) at Sofitel Mumbai BKC, bringing together policymakers, sustainability experts, industry leaders, financial institutions, and innovators to accelerate India’s transition toward a low-carbon future and support the nation’s Net Zero target by 2070.
Organized with the support of eight leading Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and in partnership with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mumbai as the official Industry Support Partner, the conclave emerged as a key platform for collaborative discussions on sustainable development, clean energy, climate resilience, green finance, and environmental innovation.
The event witnessed participation from more than 100 experts and stakeholders from diverse sectors including energy, finance, infrastructure, climate science, sustainability consulting, and technology. The conclave focused on fostering collaboration between government bodies, industry, academia, entrepreneurs, and civil society to identify practical pathways for achieving India’s long-term sustainability goals.
Opening the discussions, Pramod Marar, MD & CEO of Satin Finserv Limited, highlighted the growing opportunities in green finance and sustainable investment ecosystems in India.
Padma Shri awardee Dr. Sharad Kale, participating virtually, emphasized the importance of reducing food waste, source-level waste segregation, and converting household wet waste into organic compost to build a more sustainable society.
Dattatraya Patil, Chief General Manager at MAHAPREIT, discussed various renewable energy initiatives and subsidies being implemented by the Maharashtra government through public-private partnerships.
Addressing the financial aspect of sustainability, Sugata Dutta from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance shared insights into India’s green finance potential and proposed the concept of a dedicated Green Bank to facilitate climate-resilient investments and low-carbon infrastructure projects.
Vibhay Kumar from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited discussed the challenges of integrating renewable energy into India’s existing grid infrastructure, while Nitin Sangle highlighted advancements in solar manufacturing standards and efficient EPC project execution.
Climate scientist Sandeep Goswami emphasized the role of climate science in de-risking infrastructure, supply chains, and financial investments from future climate-related disasters. Meanwhile, Deepak Mundra demonstrated the sustainability-focused “Digify” mobile application that uses AI to digitize visiting cards and promote paperless networking.
The organizers reiterated that achieving Net Zero emissions requires coordinated efforts from industries, governments, financial institutions, innovators, and citizens alike. Through SEED Conclave 2026, the German Hightech Charitable Trust aims to create actionable partnerships and practical solutions that balance economic development with environmental responsibility.
With increasing focus on clean technologies, green financing, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure, the conclave reinforced India’s growing commitment toward building a climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable future.
