AUCL Teams Up with WHT NOW to Combat Youth Suicides Linked to Cyber Threats

Mumbai: In a significant move to combat the rising issues of cyberbullying and cyber harassment, “AU Corporate Advisory and Legal Services” (AUCL) has announced a partnership with “WHT NOW”—A Youth Voice Against Cyber Harassment. This collaboration aims to protect vulnerable individuals from the threats posed by online abuse in India.

With the digital landscape rapidly evolving, cyberbullying and related crimes have emerged as critical social issues, particularly in a country like India, where internet usage has surged but awareness and regulatory measures have not kept pace.

During the announcement, Akshat Khetan, Founder of AUCL, emphasized the urgency of addressing these concerns: “As India advances towards a digitally empowered society, the risks of cyberbullying and harassment must not be overlooked. We need a robust legal framework and heightened awareness to protect individuals and ensure a safe online environment.”

Neeti Goel, Founder of WHT NOW, highlighted the initiative's mission: “We strive to create a supportive online community for youth, free from fear of harassment. Through outreach programs and legal support, we aim to empower victims and develop effective policies to address cyber risk issues.”

‘WHT NOW’ is committed to fostering a culture of safety and support, and together with ‘AUCL’, they plan to offer resources such as legal assistance, mental health support, and a mentorship program for victims. Their outreach will include seminars, workshops, and social campaigns across educational institutions to raise awareness and sensitize parents and communities about the impact of cyberbullying.

This partnership represents a proactive approach to tackling the cyber challenges facing the youth of India, aiming not only to provide immediate support but also to create lasting change in societal attitudes towards online behavior.
