Panaji: 'The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa', made a vibrant impact on the opening day of the "Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Mumbai 2025", held from August 11 to 13 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. The state’s showcase reflected a new, forward-looking vision for tourism, emphasizing sustainability, community participation, and cultural preservation.
Goa Tourism’s pavilion drew attention for its focus on Regenerative Tourism—a concept that goes beyond sustainability by actively revitalizing local ecosystems, communities, and traditions. Visitors were introduced to community-led tourism ventures in the state’s scenic hinterlands, heritage village trails, and cultural programmes that provide livelihoods to local artisans and performers. Live craft demonstrations, culinary experiences, and interactive presentations offered a glimpse into how Goa is redefining its tourism narrative.
Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, said, “TTF Mumbai is an excellent platform to engage with travel industry stakeholders and showcase Goa’s vision for sustainable and regenerative growth in tourism. We want to present Goa not just as a destination, but as an experience that preserves its natural beauty, nurtures communities, and celebrates culture all year round.”
Shri Kedar Naik, Director of Tourism, Government of Goa, highlighted the state’s commitment to diversification in tourism. “Goa’s tourism is evolving with new experiences that go beyond the coastline. At TTF, we are highlighting opportunities for year-round travel that balance discovery with responsibility,” he said.
A notable moment on Day 1 was the visit of , Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan, to the Goa Tourism pavilion. She interacted with senior Goa Tourism officials, including Shri Rajesh Kale, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism; Smt. Chitra Vengurlekar, Assistant Tourist Officer; Shri Chandrashekhar Kopardekar, Manager, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC); and Smt. Janvi Kharat from the Department of Tourism. The discussions underscored the potential for inter-state collaborations in promoting heritage and cultural tourism.
Beyond showcasing attractions, the Goa Tourism delegation engaged in B2B meetings with prominent travel operators, media houses, and other tourism boards. The focus was on building partnerships that could expand Goa’s domestic reach while attracting niche traveller segments interested in eco-conscious and experiential tourism.
The TTF Mumbai 2025 participation is part of Goa’s broader marketing and promotional strategy for the year, aimed at positioning the state as a leader in responsible tourism. By emphasizing regenerative practices—such as supporting local supply chains, protecting biodiversity, and revitalizing heritage—the state hopes to inspire both visitors and industry stakeholders to adopt more mindful travel habits.
With its unique blend of sun-kissed beaches, lush hinterlands, vibrant culture, and thriving local communities, Goa is inviting travellers to rediscover the state in a more meaningful way. As showcased at TTF Mumbai, this is a Goa that thrives not only on its natural charm but also on its commitment to ensuring that tourism benefits both people and the planet.
